Thomas St Grocery has had a long history in the neighbourhood from Butcher to Corner Store to Grocery Store to Cafe and now a takeaway food store with food, meals and coffee... hence our name!

in 2010, experienced chef Zane Middleton took the leap of faith to open his own cafe, with a focus making good, honest food - made from scratch - that tasted like real home made food.

​

A definite local favourite is our pies. Chunky, full of flavour and a real meal in itself - our pies have been a crowd favourite with up to 12 flavours available. Click here for more info in our pies.

When Covid hit in 2020 - we were unsure what the future held for our little shop. Although times were tough, we were so happy to be able to provide a small slither of sunshine to the community and were able to remain open offering a takeaway service for coffee, food and read-made meals. Over the 2 years of Covid the "takeaway" part really took off, so we decided to remove the table service and added an extra fridge with our fresh, house made real food and meals.

Now we are in 2024 - we have made a slight update to our name to Thomas St Food Co so that we could grow the ready-made meals and catering options we also offer online - but of course we still have the shop in Hampton which is open 7 days a week so that we can continue to serve our awesome customers.

 

The best thing about Thomas St is out loyal and dedicated customers who have made our small cafe part of the community.
